Mounting Instructions The magnetic field sensor is especially suited for the detection of welding nuts as well as spacer or reinforcing sleeves. The parts to be detected must always consist of ferromagnetic material to ensure proper function. Most applications need centre bolts to tack the welding nuts and reinforcing sleeves in place, providing mechanical protection of the sensors. These bolts must be made of non-ferromagnetic material, such as stainless steel. Centre bolts are not available at Turck, as they must be individually produced and adjusted to the specific application. The welding nut sensor detects ferritic targets with diameters between 6 mm and 12 mm.

The Turck NIMFE-M12/4.6L88-UP6X-H1141 is a high-performance magnetic field sensor designed for the precise detection of ferromagnetic parts. This sensor is particularly adept at identifying welding nuts, spacer sleeves, and reinforcing sleeves, ensuring reliable performance in demanding industrial environments.

Constructed with a robust chrome-plated brass housing, the NIMFE-M12/4.6L88-UP6X-H1141 offers exceptional durability and resistance to wear and tear. Its threaded barrel design, measuring M12 x 1, allows for easy and secure installation. The sensor operates on a DC 3-wire system with an operating voltage range of 10 to 30 VDC, making it versatile for various applications.

Key features include a programmable PNP output function, which can be configured for normally closed (NC) or normally open (NO) operations using the Turck teach adapter VB2-SP1. The sensor also boasts an IP67 protection class, ensuring it is dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion in water. With a maximum tightening torque of 10 Nm for the housing nut, the sensor maintains a secure fit even in high-vibration environments.

The NIMFE-M12/4.6L88-UP6X-H1141 is equipped with LED indicators for power-on (green) and switching state (yellow), providing clear visual feedback during operation. It has a mean time to failure (MTTF) of 874 years, according to SN 29500 standards, highlighting its long-term reliability.

Ideal for applications requiring the detection of ferromagnetic materials with diameters between 6 mm and 12 mm, this sensor ensures accurate and consistent performance. Its ability to differentiate between the target part and surrounding materials makes it a valuable component in automated manufacturing processes.
