The Beckhoff EL7211 servomotor terminal is a compact and high-performance drive component designed to facilitate precise and dynamic positioning tasks. This EtherCAT Terminal, with an integrated resolver interface, is optimised for use with motors from the AM8100 and AM3100 series, supporting up to 4.5 A (Irms). Its advanced control technology, which includes field-oriented current and PI speed control, ensures rapid response times and exceptional servo performance within a very compact design.
The EL7211 is equipped with comprehensive monitoring capabilities to ensure maximum operational reliability. It can detect and manage a range of parameters such as overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent, terminal temperature, and motor load through an I²T model calculation. The integration of EtherCAT for system communication and CAN-over-EtherCAT (CoE) for the application layer allows for seamless interfacing with PC-based control technologies.
Featuring the latest in power semiconductor technology, the EL7211 minimises power loss and facilitates energy recuperation during braking processes. The terminal is also user-friendly, with 16 LEDs that provide clear status, warning, and error messages, as well as indications of any active limitations.
Designed for direct motor connection plus feedback, the EL7211 requires a 24 V DC supply voltage for electronics and an 8 to 50 V DC supply voltage for power. This servomotor terminal is a testament to Beckhoff's commitment to innovation, offering a solution that combines efficiency, reliability, and high-level performance for sophisticated automation tasks.
